Pasta Salad

I'm already thinking about summer BBQs and this yummy pasta salad is a great throw together side. The great thing about this salad is there really isn't a set measurement for each ingredient, you add everything to your liking.

First cook your curly pasta according to the package instructions for Al Dente, you don't want your pasta too soft or it will get mushy so cook it Al Dente or just a tad bit longer. Once the noodles are done, strain it and spray it with cold water to stop the cooking process. Let it sit while you cut up everything else to allow the excess water to drain out.

Next, dice up the rest of the ingredients and add it to your bowl of pasta. Continue to add ingredients to your liking and until the pasta salad has such a beautiful mixture of color. Start pouring in the italian dressing and toss your salad. I like to put my salad in the fridge and allow it to sit for a little to allow the dressing and all of the flavors to mix together then taste the salad and see if I need to add anymore dressing. Once you have the flavor to how you like it then you are ready to go!

Ingredients

1 pkg Fusilli (Curly) Pasta

Black olives, sliced

Cheddar Cheese, diced

Carrots, Shredded

1 red onion, diced

red bell pepper, diced

Broccoli florets, chopped

Italian salad Dressing

I didn't put specific measurements for all of the ingredients because this recipe is more of a keep on adding ingredients to your liking kind of recipe.

1. Cook pasta according to package directions, cook al dente. You don't want the pasta too soft or it will get mushy. Once it is done cooking, drain and add to mixing bowl.

2. chop/dice up the rest of the ingredients and add it to the pasta.

3. Toss everything together, add more ingredients if you feel it needs more color or has too little of an ingredient.

4. Pour in the Italian salad dressing, I use at least half of the bottle and toss all together. Again add dressing to taste. If you have the time, stick the salad in the fridge and let it sit for a while to allow the flavors to all mix together. Then taste the salad to see if you need more dressing or not.
