Tropical Smoothie

I cannot wait until spring and summer arrive for multiple reasons, one of those reasons being smoothies! For this recipe I just used a frozen bag of mixed fruit from Costco, it's the Wawona frozen festival blend which consists of pineapple, strawberries, mango and papaya. My favorite time of day to make a smoothie is first thing in the morning, it is so refreshing and filling and makes an easy breakfast.

Making smoothies is quite simple, you basically throw everything into a blender and voila! you have yourself a smoothie. HOWEVER, did you know there is a proper way to make a smoothie? I never thought there was an order in which you should add things to the blender but supposedly there is...this helps your smoothie blend easier and well.

It is suggested that you:

Step 1: Add your fruit (preferably 2 or more different fruits)

Step 2: Add your base (juice, milk, water etc.)

Step 3: Add your thickener ( ice cubes, yogurt, ice cream, oats etc)

Step 4: Add your flavor (honey, sugar, vanilla, seasonings etc)

Step 5: Add your powerup (protein powder, probiotics, flaxseed etc)

The nice thing about making smoothies is you can add whatever it is you want, totally make it your own and to your liking.
